Climax Priscilla May Elwell of Climax, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 8, 2010. Priscilla was born May 4, 1927 in Three Rivers, MI to Paul and Flossie Engel Austin. On July 5, 1947, Priscilla married Marvin Thomas Elwell. Marvin preceded her in death on October 21, 1998. Priscilla was a Justice of the Peace in Climax for several years in the mid-1960's. As such, she officiated at many weddings of local residents. She then became employed at what was then Post Cereals, retiring from there in 1987. Priscilla was also a Charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 465, in Climax. Priscilla was preceded in death by her father, Paul Austin; her mother, Flossie Olmsted; her twin brother, Paul Austin; and two other brothers, Richard Austin and Edward Austin. Priscilla leaves behind three sons, two daughters and their spouses: Lester and Audrey Elwell of Benton Harbor; Michael and Marijo Elwell of Climax; Jon and Joellen Elwell of Climax; Christine and Thomas Lyster of Climax/Manistee; and Michele and Bret Lantis of Climax; her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Orien Weeks of Union City; twelve grandchildren; and one great grandchild. There will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Good Samaritan Hospice of Battle Creek.
