GERMAY, Pierre E.
of Portage Pierre E. Germay peacefully passed away in his sleep at his Portage home on Sunday Nov. 20, 2011. Born in Belgium on Feb. 11, 1926, he brought his family to the Kalamazoo area in Sept. 1969. Over the years, he worked for Kalamazoo Springs/PAC in Portage and Detroit, then for Hytech in Plainwell. Léona, his wife of 44 years, having passed on in 1994, they are survived by their 3 sons Joseph Linda, Roger Josée & Louis Brenda Germay, grandchildren Carrie Michael Bippley & Cathy Germay, Marc, Frédéric & Patric Germay and Nathan Kelly, Matthew, Nicole & Christopher Darley Germay and great-grandchildren Elizabeth & Hannah Bippley and Emelyn & Noelle Germay, all residing in MI., except for Nicole who's been experiencing life in Belgium since graduating from MSU several years ago. Also surviving Pierre in Belgium are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of his sister, the late Marguerite Marcel Cortis. Pierre was the best father/grandfather anyone would wish to have. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Like Léona had before him, Pierre willed his body to the MSU program for the furtherance of medical knowledge. There will be no visitation. Memorial Mass at St.Monica Catholic Church: arrangements are yet to be determined. Memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.
