Portage, Michigan Passed away peacefully Friday morning August 29, 2008. Phyllis was born October 22, 1936 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of John and Evelyn Jacob Weaver. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was employed with the Upjohn Company and Ryan's Steak House before retiring. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Marietta Hopkins; and a brother, Stan Weaver. She is survived by 2 sons, Terry Kelly Rose of Vicksburg and Todd Rose of Long Beach, CA; 2 grandchildren, Dakota and Autumn Rose of Vicksburg; 2 brothers, Robert Gail Weaver of Blanchard, ID and John Joanie Weaver of Kalamazoo; 3 sisters, Barbara Herschel Largent of Portage, Donna House of Kalamazoo, and Marjorie Wayne McCarver of Portage; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Services will be held 10:30 Tuesday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center. www.langelands.com . 343-1508.
