DAVIDSON-MULL, Phyllis E.
of Kalamazoo, MI Passed away April 24, 2009 at Friendship Village. She was born November 10, 1920 in Benton Harbor, to the late J.W. and Elizabeth Lucker DuVall . She was the first member of her family to go to college and get a master's degree. She was united in marriage to Harold N. Davidson who predeceased her in 1990 and later, to John H. Mull who predeceased her in November of 2006. Besides Benton Harbor, Phyllis has lived in New Orleans, LA, Mesa, AZ, and both Battle Creek and Kalamazoo, MI. She sought music in every locale, singing in barbershop quartets, women's choruses, and choirs. She also played in the First Congregational Church bell choir in Kalamazoo. Phyllis was a passionate knitter, could quote many verses of poetry, loved nature walks, reading, and crossword puzzles, and could make a tasty shrimp creole. Surviving Phyllis are her daughters, Katharine McDonnell of Shorewood, WI and Margaret Davidson of Mt. Vernon, WA; half-sister, Alice Cole; step-children, LeAnn David Morse, Colleen Craig Formsma and John Trish Mull, Jr.; grandchildren, Lindsay Kevin Madsen and Daniel McDonnell; great grandson, Cameron; step grandchildren, John David Kim Morse, Edward Beth Morse, Autumn Travis Millerov, Forrest Meredith Formsma, Tiffany Formsma, Landon Andrea Mull, Tyler Mull and Collin Mull; and several nieces and nephews. No visitation is scheduled. A Memorial service will take place Wednesday, 1:00pm, at the First Congregational Church, 129 S. Park St., Rev. Matt Laney, officiating. Arrangements are by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Memorials may be directed to First Congregational Church music program.
