Phyllis E. Carver

CARVER, Phyllis E.
of Kalamazoo Passed away May 12, 2010 at her home. She was born December 30, 1927 in Kalamazoo, to the late Harley and Itol Mohney Gettys. Phyllis was united in marriage on December 24, 1955 to Earnest E. "Gene" Carver, who survives. Phyllis was a long-time member of the Lutheran Church of the Savior. She was also a member of, Daughters of the Nile #67, the White Shrine of Jerusalem #24, and the American Auxiliary Unit #36, where she served as past president. Also surviving Phyllis are her children, Sherry William Berghuis of Portage, Candy Terry Ringler of Burr Oak, MI, Becky Tom Fenwick of Portage and Lonnie Carver of Madison, AL; 4 grandchildren, Lyn Beckman, John Ringler, David Ringler and Tyler Carver; 6 great grandchildren, David, Brendon, Maya and Brooklyn Ringler, and JW and Drew Beckman; and several cousins. Also preceding Phyllis in death were 2 grandchildren, Brian Ringler and Keith Carver. Family will greet friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8:00 o'clock at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., where services will take place, Monday at 11:00 o'clock, Rev. Andrew Tengwall, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Shriner Hospital or to the Lutheran Church of the Savior.
