PARKER, Phillip L.
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Phil passed away Saturday evening, December 15, 2012 at Kairos Dwelling. He was born December 6, 1925 in Kalamazoo, the son of Edwin and Ethel Berner Parker. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II. Phil was employed by Miller-Davis Co. as a finish carpenter for over 40 years and was also a member of Westwood United Methodist Church for over 40 years. He was active with the Westwood Little League, in which his three sons participated. On February 21, 1947, he was united in marriage to the former Sybil Ellis, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Ellen John Griffith of Parchment, MI, Phillip Diane Parker of Bayfield, CO, Robert Maria Parker of San Diego, CA and Ronald Deb Parker of Eugene, OR; sister, Barbara Pallett of Claire, MI; five grandchildren, Kathryn, Kristin, Monica, Phillip and Robert; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents and two sisters, Virginia Goldsmith and Evelyn Griffin. Honoring Phillip's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. Interment has taken place in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes.
