Phillip C. Leland

Age 96, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024. Phillip was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on February 23, 1928, the son of the late Ellsworth and Dora M. (Dorlet) Leland. On February 21, 1948, he was united in marriage to the former Bernice M. Delach, who preceded him in death on December 23, 2020. Phillip served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He is survived by his children, Wendy Catherwood, Thomas (Paige) Leland, and Patricia (Randy) Leland; daughter-in-law, Peggy Leland; grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew (Tia) Catherwood, Kristin (Dan) Kujawa, Erika Leland, Brock (Kristin) Noel, Erin (Adam) Haley, J.P. (Hayleigh) Leland, and Leigh Ann Denny; 12 great-grandchildren, and sister, Florence Martins. Besides his wife and parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Leland, and siblings, Don Leland, Fritz Leland, Barb Crockett, and Mary Thole. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 1:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Paw Paw, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to Centrica Care Navigators Hospice or Kairos Dwelling.
