Phillip Michael Dial passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the age of 82. He was born on September 30, 1938, son to the late Clifford and Helen (Heber) Dial. Phillip graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School. Phillip was raised in a household with his mother and sisters after his dad passed away at a young age. As an outgoing, social kid, he was active and enjoyed playing many sports in school. Phillip had many hobbies such as bowling, playing pool, and golfing. He loved all things peanut butter especially peanut butter pie. Phillip was a U of M and Lions football fan. He will be remembered for his yearly barbeque parties with friends and neighbors. Phillip had a fondness for camping since an early age and loved taking his family on camping adventures. He cherished his grandkids most of all and referred to them as his "sweethearts."

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters: Francis Derthick, Janice Garrison, Clarissa Kenney, Betty Dial, and twin sisters who were stillborn. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Dial; daughter Jodi (Thomas Johnson) Hageman; son, Michael Dial; grandchildren: Leeann (Zach) Bowden, Heather Hageman, Nicolas Dial, Zachary Dial; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and his family plans for a memorial celebration of life to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his honor to the ASPCA or a charity of choice.
