Portage, MI Died Sunday afternoon November 23, 2008. Pauline was born September 3, 1923 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Donald and Beatrice Smith Deem. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the Upjohn Company for 16 years, retiring in 1986. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Percy G. Maystead on December 1, 1980; and 2 sisters, Garnett and Beverly. She is survived by 3 sons, Doug Jenny Maystead of Three Rivers, Steve Maystead of Portage, and Barry Sandi Maystead of Otsego; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Deem of Gobles; a sister, Shirley Hill of Portage; 2 step-sisters, Kate French of Oshtemo and Daisy Deaton of Cooper; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1 o'clock Wednesday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Visitation will be 6-8pm Tuesday. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
