Of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at Heartland Health Care Center in Kalamazoo. He was born October 7, 1918 in Racine, Wisconsin, son of the late Paul and Ellen nee: Walek Tiles. On October 24, 1942, Paul was united in marriage to Mary Lois Millar in Racine. They had been married 60 years, when she passed away in March of 2003. Paul was employed at Badger Tool Works in Racine for most of his professional life. He was a member of the American Society of Tool and Manufacturing Engineers ASTME and was actively involved in the First Church of God in Racine. He had a great love for gardening and was an avid fisherman. What he missed most, when he moved from Racine to Kalamazoo, MI, in 1999, was his beloved Lake Michigan, on whose shores he had grown up and whose piers he had visited almost daily after he retired in 1983. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Tom Patt of Kalamazoo, MI; son and daughter-in-law, James and Mary Tiles of Winchester, England; grandson and his wife, Jeremy and Amy Patt, and their children, Cameron and Makenna Patt, all of Midland, MI; brother, Edward Tiles of Little River, SC; sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Raymond Chaffee of St. Charles, MO; nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or services. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S.
