of Portage, Michigan Paul Earl Jenkins, age 88, passed away July 26, 2012 in Portage, Michigan. Paul was born February 8, 1924, in Mt. Vernon, Indiana, the son of Freeman and Oma Corbin Jenkins. During WW II, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-45 and was a highly decorated veteran. He was a resident of Kalamazoo for many years and was employed as a chemical operator for 33 years with The Upjohn Company. In May of 1944, he was united in marriage to Helen Harris Jenkins, who survives. Also surviving are his six children, James Joan Jenkins, Harold Susan Jenkins, Daniel Christy Jenkins, Barbara James Short, Mark Mary Jenkins and Phillip Jenkins; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and a good friend, Betty Adams. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and by siblings, James Jenkins and Doris Pyrz. In accordance with Paul's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or services. A private burial will be held in the Garden of Memory in Gentryville, IN. Memorials in Paul's memory may be directed to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes.
