Portage Passed away Thursday, July 30, 2009. He was born September 28, 1914 in Three Rivers, a son of Frank and Florence Shank Bolin and lived in the Kalamazoo area for many years. He was employed for 42 years in the paper industry, first for Sutherland Paper, then for Fort James James River Company, where he was a member of the Camera Club. Paul was a member of the Portage Free Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Churchill Bolin on January 19, 2000. Paul was also preceded by his parents, a brother Robert Bolin and a sister, Jeanette Tyler. He is survived by his children, Ronald E. Carol Bolin of Kalamazoo and Linda L. Steve Shafer of Lawton; 5 grandchildren, Laurie Kenn Potts, Michele Craig McGann, Amber, Erica and Aaron Shafer; 6 great grandchildren, Lindsay, Alyssa, Erick, Ted, Emily and Katrina; a great great grandson, Chance; as well as nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. with Pastor Mark Cryderman, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. The visitation will begin at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
