Of Portage Passed away April 3, 2010 at Tendercare of Portage. Paul was born April 10, 1925 in Kalamazoo, a son of Abe and Trena Lindemulder Agema and was a lifelong Kalamazoo resident. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Paul worked in the Commercial Building Trades as a sheet metal worker until his retirement. He was an active member of the Covenant United Reformed Church. Paul was a tinkerer and enjoyed building and working around the house. He loved sailing and built one of his own sailboats. He also enjoyed driving up north to visit relatives, organic gardening, his flower garden, riding his bicycle and walking. On June 1, 1944, he was married to the former Lois Derksen, who survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters and 2 sons, Larry Barb Agema of Portage, Debbie Agema of Kalamazoo, Vickie Randy Phillips of Schoolcraft and Paul Lisa Agema of Portage; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Ft. Custer National Cemetery with full military honors by the Ft. Custer Honor Guard and the U.S. Navy. Friends may meet the family on Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E.
