Patricia Dale (Baker) Wooden of Kalamazoo, Michigan, died on March 9, 2024, at the age of 85. Patricia was born in Chicago, Illinois, on July 29, 1938, to the late Robert and Birja (Brinker) Baker. In 1959, Patricia married Jack D Wooden. Jack died in 2014 after the two had spent nearly 55 years together.
Patricia attended and graduated from State High School in Kalamazoo, Michigan, then spent one year attending Western Michigan University. She worked for Kalamazoo Savings and Loan for over 5 years and Flow Tech for 10 years. Patricia eventually settled in at WMH Fluid Power where she would dedicate 30 years of her life, retiring at 80 years of age.
Patricia was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 76 years and was a member of their choir. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority. A woman of many interests, Patricia collected Hallmark lighthouses and harness brasses, and she loved to read. Family and friends were of great importance to her. She enjoyed boating on Gull Lake and Lake Michigan, playing cards with friends, and spending time with their car group. She also enjoyed summer travels with her family and get-togethers at Saddle Lake, Van Buren State Park, Yankee Springs, and Depot RV Park.
Patricia is survived by her children, Skip (Linda) Wooden and Suzan Wooden; grandson, Nicholas Wooden; sister, Roberta Miles; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband; her parents; in-laws, Durward and Elizabeth Wooden; brother- and sister-in-law, Dick and Rita Bartholomew; sister, Gail Hall; brothers-in-law, Mike Hall and Robert Miles; and life-long family friends, Amos and Mary Swartz.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, with visitation from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on March 22nd, and the funeral to follow on March 23rd at 1:00 pm.
