Of Saginaw, formerly of Portage Our adored mother, Patricia Wanda Widerberg was born March 17, 1925, in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of Stanley and Anna Dubish Smolen and passed away August 6, 2011, in Saginaw, Michigan. Coming from Hegewisch, Illinois, she was a longtime Portage area resident who was employed for many years as a beautician. The most important part of Pat's life was her family, home, and QVC; and throughout the years took pride in being an expert homemaker. Pat was united in marriage to Lloyd C. Widerberg who preceded her in death on February 8, 1982. She was also preceded in death by a son, Lloyd G. Widerberg in 2010. Surviving are three children, Ron Lois Widerberg of Galesburg, Marliss Charlie Tapp of Portage and Susan Bruce Bendix of Saginaw. She was the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friend's on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. where a service to celebrate Pat's life will be held 1:00 PM Thursday. Interment will follow in South Portage Cemetery.
