Patricia A. Adams

Passed away Sunday afternoon, May 5, 2024. Patricia was born February 11, 1953 the daughter of Donald Sr. and Alberta (Howard) Adams. Patricia who went by Pat, was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School class of 1971. She earned a degree in nursing from KVCC, and spent 5 years as a nurse’s aide, 3 as an LPN, and 43 as an RN. She worked 17 years at Bronson level 1 trauma center where she was a critical care nurse, surgical nurse, Trauma, Neuro/Burn unit nurse and one of Kalamazoo’s first flight nurses.  She continued as a home health nurse, Workers’ compensation, Hospice, as a triage/on call Nurse, and most recently at Senior Care Partners PACE where she worked until her death.  She devoted her life to being an advocate for her patients, and a healer.  She loved taking care of the elderly and had a special place for her patients at PACE.   

Pat grew up in Kalamazoo. When she was younger, she spent many years in the Gun Lake area with her family at their cottage, which she also spent with her son.  She loved angels and was a competitive bowler, who spent many years bowling with her family, friends, and her son.  In her free time, she served over 14 years as a volunteer with her son with SPCA, Animal Rescue Project, and many others.

Pat is survived by her son, who was her pride and joy, Tyler Adams; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She had a deep love for her family and friends.   Friends may meet the family on Saturday, May 25 from 2:00-3:00pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre, Portage, MI 49002 where a memorial service will follow at 3:00pm.
