BERRYMAN, Pamela S.
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Pamela passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She was born June 11, 1952 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Chester and Bernice Lucille Pankratz Berryman. Pam earned 2 masters degrees and a doctorate degree from Western Michigan University. She worked as a rehabilitation teacher for the adult blind for 10 years in Detroit and helped many adults and senior handicap at various centers and schools in Kalamazoo. She was a member of Southern Heights Christian Reformed Church, Kalamazoo Council for the Blind, Kalamazoo Dog Training Club and American Counseling Association; and was also the 2nd V.P. for the Michigan Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. She enjoyed playing computer games and loved listing to music, especially the Beetles. Preceding her in death are her parents and brother, Douglas Berryman. Surviving are her cousin, Gary and Diane Berryman; many special friends, Kat Knisely, Greg Niemi, Kris Knisely, Kris Schumacher, Julie Melton, Barbara Murphy, Cindy Johnson, Elizabeth Ulrich, Mike and Beth Bowling, Sandy and Virgil Cole and Family, Rev. Dan Sarkipato, Deb Bos and her Southern Heights Church family; and many close friends she knew across the U.S. Friends may visit with the family from 2-3 PM on Tuesday, October 2, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street with funeral services beginning at 3:00 PM with Pastor Michael Bowling officiating. Private interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery in Troy, MI. Memorial contributions may be directed to Leader Dogs for the Blind, Kalamazoo Council of the Blind and Visually Impaired or American Council for the Blind.
