P. Adrian Wierengo

WIERENGO, P. Adrian Adrian went to be with his Lord on High on April 22, 2012. He looked forward to heaven after this life. Adrian knew his savior and hopes you do, too. Adrian was born in Muskegon, MI on September 12, 1926 to Peter and Clara Knapp Wierengo. He had a good life. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1945. He married Beverly J. Brondyke, September 12, 1947. She was the love of his life for 64 years. Adrian and Beverly owned Emerson Hardware & Appliance store. He later retired from Kendall Mill Supply. Adrian volunteered for 15 years at the Portage Fire Department and RDMG Funeral Home before full retirement. He was active in the Portage Senior Center for 10 years. Adrian and Beverly loved to have garage sales, auctions, flea markets and loved to travel. Adrian leaves behind his wife Beverly; son David Karen Wierengo; daughter, Susan John Webster; grandchildren, Jonathan Caryl Wierengo, Christina Brian Barth, Elizabeth and Sarah Francis and Michelle Webster; great grandchildren, Luke, Maggie and Molly Wierengo and Taylor, Trevor and Joey Barth; and a very good friend Joella Crouse. Adrian was preceded in death by his mother and father, Clara and Peter Wierengo; father-in-law, Emerson Brondyke and mother-in-law, Donna Brondyke. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for approximately 50 years and now has been a member of Berean Baptist Church for about 10 years. Family will greet friends on Thursday April 26th from noon-2:00 o'clock at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Ave., where services will take place at 2:00 o'clock. Interment will follow at Central Portage Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or to Berean Baptist Church.
