GOFF, Otis Ward
Of Portage
Ward passed away Friday May 22, 2009 at his home. He was born February 28, 1920, in Decatur, Michigan, the son of John and Lula Roberts Goff. All of his working years were spent in the tool and die industry. Many of those years he was employed as a tool and die maker and designer and prior to retirement was self-employed. He was a member and one of the founders of Unity of Kalamazoo Church where he had served several terms on the Board of Directors. On September 12, 1968, he was married to the former Jeanette Terpstra Morren. Surviving are his wife, Jeanette; children, Ward Penny Goff of Delton, Roger Goff of Florida, Melvin Ginny Goff of Wyoming, MI, Luann Sam Raimondo of Fennville and Gerald Linda Goff of Tucson, AZ; step-sons, Dale Sandy Morren of Portage and Tom Brenda Morren of Portage; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ward was preceded in death by all of his siblings, Irvin, Howard, Myron, Melvina, Casper, Albina, Edith, Lawrence, William and Clinton; and by a grandson, John W. Goff. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 26 from 10-11 AM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue where a memorial service to celebrate Ward's life will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday with Rev. Marty Newman officiating. A private family entombment will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest Mausoleum.
