CHANEY, Ora R. Jr.
Of Climax Ora passed away Friday, January 28, 2011 in Kalamazoo at Bronson Hospital with his family at his side. He was born August 13, 1930 in Battle Creek, MI, the son of Ora and Goldie Chaney. On March 4, 1948, he was united in marriage to the former Evelyn Kanipe, who preceded him in death in 2008. Ora lived his entire life in the Climax area where he raised his family. He enjoyed his many fruit trees, his garden and hedges, reading and was an avid painter. He was a member of Chapman Memorial Church of the Nazarene and formerly a member of and served on the board of West Michigan Ave. Church of the Nazarene in Battle Creek and had also served on the Village of Climax Board. Surviving are 4 children, Rick Debbie Chaney of Scotts, Karin Frank Milliman of Burr Oak, Tim Chaney fianc�e Wealtha of White Cloud, and Kyle Chaney fianc�e Angie of Plainwell; a brother, Dwight Sue Chaney of Portage; several grand and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Memorial services for Ora will be held on Monday, February 7, 2011 at Chapman Memorial Church of the Nazarene, 7520 E. U Avenue, Vicksburg. Private interment will be in Prairie Home Cemetery, Climax.
