WHITE, OLIVE B. Kalamazoo and Grass Lake, Michigan Passed away peacefully on April 21, 2007 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo after a short stay. She was born in Camp Point, IL on March 24, 1912 to Hazel B. and Roy B. Bower. She spent her early years living in several small Illinois towns while her father worked as a freight agent for the Burlington Railroad. She met the love of her life, Robert White at Bradley University and they were married on October 21, 1933 in Bradford, IL. She moved to Kalamazoo with her family in 1946 and was a resident here for 61 years. She spent most summers at the family cottage at Wolf Lake near Jackson, MI. She loved her family, her friends and her church. She enjoyed flower gardening, reading, cooking for family and friends and traveling to interesting places. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob in 1980, her step-mother Connie Bower in 1989 and her son Phillip Bower White in 2005. She is survived by her sister Sherry Paul Morris of Lombard, IL, her son Robert White, Jr. of Kalamazoo with whom she lived for the past 7 years; grandson John Patricia White of Lake Zurich, IL; granddaughter Kimberly Jonathan Joyce of Oswego, IL; 2 great-grandchildren, Meghan Shae Joyce and Nathan Bower Joyce of Oswego, IL; daughter-in-law Claudia Norde of LaGrange, IL and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. A service of celebration and remembrance of Olive?s life will be at the First Presbyterian Church in Kalamazoo on Friday, April 27 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Wayne Conner officiating. Interment in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest a memorial to the First Presbyterian Church, 321 W. South St., Kalamazoo, 49007 or Hospice of Southwest Michigan, 222 N. Kalamazoo Mall, Kalamazoo 49007 or a charity of one?s choice.
