Olen Schlatter

SCHLATTER, REV. OLEN Olen Charles Schlatter, age 81, went home to be with his Lord on February 5, 2013 at Riverview Manor in Three Rivers, MI. Olen was born July 27, 1931, in Grand Junction, Colorado, the son of Olen Guy and Ruth Alma Taylor Schlatter. He was a graduate of Fort Wayne Bible College where he received his Bachelors of Arts in Bible and Bethel College where he received his Masters of Ministry. Olen served over 40 years as a Pastor with many churches in the Missionary Church Denomination and locally with Kalamazoo Missionary Church for 10 years. On August 2, 1953, he was united in marriage to Doris M. Stiles Schlatter, who survives. Also surviving are their four children, Ruth Jere Schwerdtfeger of Kingston, OK, Jonathan Renee Schlatter of Ft. Wayne, IN, Samuel Millie Schlatter of Lawton, MI and Joy Edward Baiz of Granger, IN; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, June John Fritschi, Wilma Ken Riggenbach, Ethel Gordon Klopfenstein and Orvil Arlene Schlatter; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Monday, February 11, 2013 at the Kalamazoo Missionary Church 5045 E. Michigan Ave. where a funeral service will be held at the church at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 12, 2013, with Pastor Ken Smeader officiating. Immediately following the service friends are invited to join the family for a luncheon. A committal service will be held at 2:30 pm Tuesday at Oak Grove Cemetery in Lawton.
