Norman Schwencer of Portage, MI passed away at his home with his family around him on December 10, 2022. He was born January 24, 1932, the son of Paul and Mae (McCart) Schwencer. He went to Bedford schools and worked many jobs throughout his life, retiring from Precast in the early 1990s. Norman married the love of his life, Helen (Sutfin) Schwencer on July 19, 1952. Norman and Helen did everything together from dancing, riding motorcycles, snowmobiles and dune buggies, to playing cards with family and friends. Norman loved life.
Norman is survived by his wife, Helen; 4 children, Norma Postula, Donald Schwencer, Margaret Boynton, and Carole (Donald) Lyon; 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Tom (Joan) Schwencer; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Diana French; granddaughter, Candy Trumbull; son-in-law, Steve Postula; sisters, Louise (Donald) Orton, Mary (Gilbert) Moon, Joyce (Dave) Ruffner; and brother, John Schwencer.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, December 31, 2022, in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, 1490 E Michigan Ave, Battle Creek MI 49014.
