WELCH, Mrs. Norma J.
Kalamazoo, MI Died Saturday evening January 26, 2013. Norma was born March 12, 1933 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Vernon and Frances Welch Ward. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with Bronson Hospital for 29 years, retiring in 1995. Norma was also a member of the Portage Moose Lodge and the Kalamazoo Eagles. She enjoyed bowling in her earlier years and loved putting puzzles together. Norma also liked to go to the casinos occasionally, but used her wisdom and always came home with money. She also had a large collection of Angels and Dolls, especially Marie Osmond. Norma was preceded in death by her parents; and 2 brothers, Donald E. and Larry L. Ward. She is survived by 2 sisters, JoAnn Forbes of Kalamazoo and Mary Lou LaVern Lonsbury of Bloomingdale; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 1 o'clock Thursday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Private interment will be in Comstock Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
