of Kalamazoo Passed away November 19, 2011 in Kalamazoo. She was born July 30, 1932 in Kalamazoo to the late Clarence and Melva Mae Geren Pierce. She was united in marriage to Robert Neal Smith, Jr. Robert survives. She enjoyed sports, Tigers, Redwings and Lions. She loved her family and enjoyed singing to her grandchildren. Also surviving Noreen are her children, Donald Bechtel of Kalamazoo, James Janet Bechtel of Kalamazoo, Alan Diane Bechtel of Mansfield, OH, Linda Gary Barker of Kalamazoo, Jeffrey Linda Bechtel of Mattawan, Dianna Bradley Morris of Delton, Gaert Bechtel of Plainwell, Dwight Bechtel of Kalamazoo and Sheryl Clemens of Kalamazoo; 13 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Gardner, Marie Mackey and Mable Holmes; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Open funeral services will take place Tuesday, 1:00 o'clock at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo, MI A private interment will take place at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery - South. Memorials may be directed to Kalamazoo Community Church.
