STELL, Mrs. Nellie L.
Kalamazoo, Michigan Died Tuesday morning September 16, 2008 at her residence. Nellie was born May 26, 1930 in DeWitt, Michigan a daughter of Leon and Lilah Doty Barnard. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1944 and was employed with Western Michigan University for 22 years, retiring in 1993. She was also a member of the Unity Church of Kalamazoo. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Stell in 1983; and a brother, Larry Barnard. On July 8, 1950, she was united in marriage to Herbert Stell, Jr. who survives. Also surviving, 3 children, Sandra Stell of Coloma, Thomas Jennifer Stell of Mattawan, and Barbara Rick Painton of Delton; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Anne Barnard of Parchment; a niece; and a nephew. Private graveside services will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. A memorial service will be held 1 o'clock Friday at the Unity Church of Kalamazoo, 1204 Whites Rd. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S.
