of Kalamazoo Passed away Wednesday morning, November 2, 2011 at her home. Nellie was born June 9, 1939 in South Haven, MI to the late Morris and Nellie Lockner Luce and had been a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo area. Nellie enjoyed taking care of and being around her family. She enjoyed camping, helping others and spending time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In 1975 she was united in marriage to Leroy Peake, who preceded her in death on November 22, 1986. She was also preceded in death by her son, Sainke DeGlopper; 2 brothers, Mitch Russell, Donald Luce; and a sister, Loretta Buchino. Surviving are her children, Debra Cole, Jashnea Tillison, Eric Peake, Reynea, Christopher DeGlopper, Kevin Peake, Katrina Munson, Latonia Peake, John Peake; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Norman Russell, Lawrence Luce; a sister, Beverly Carvalho; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1:00 o'clock Monday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick. Interment will follow in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
