Nellie Middlebush

MIDDLEBUSH, Mrs. Nellie Kalamazoo Mrs. Middlebush passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening, March 11, 2007 at her home. She was born in her family home on December 13, 1919 in Kalamazoo Township, the daughter of the late Phillipus and Anna Jager Mejeur. Nellie was very church oriented, a devout Christian lady who attended church every Sunday. She was raised in Second Reformed Church on N. Westnedge Avenue. On June 27, 1941, she was united in marriage to Carl W. Middlebush, who preceded her in death on April 6, 1991. After marriage, she became a member of Twin Lakes Reformed Church. In later years, Nellie attended Cooper Baptist Church. For the past 14 years, she had been attending Calvary Bible Church. Most recently, she attended Calvary Community Church, Plainwell with her daughter and son-in-law. Nellie loved to cook, can, and garden. In early years, she loved to travel with her family and later with her son Wes. They visited the community where her father was raised in The Netherlands. Nellie loved to shop with her best friend, Ali, and often with family and friends. Surviving are two children, Dr. Wesley Middlebush of Battle Creek and Nancy Fred Nunley of Otsego; two grandchildren, U.S. Army Sgt. Joshua Sarah Nunley of Allegan; and Robert Jenny Sanders of Kalamazoo; two great-grandchildren, Chandler and Gage Nunley; four sisters, Ann Munger of Portage, Rena DeHaan of Portage, Ada Visser of Portage, and Harriet Ed Jeffrey of Hot Springs, AR; two brothers, Gary Mejeur of Plainwell, and Phillip Marcia Mejeur of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services for Mrs. Middlebush will be at 12:00 PM on Monday at Calvary Community Church, 317 12th Street, Plainwell, with Pastor Mark Minegar officiating. Private interment will be in Grand Prairie Cemetery.
