OSBORNE, Mr. Nathan W. Dungannon, Virginia
Formerly of Mattawan, Michigan Passed away Saturday afternoon March 19, 2011 at his oldest grand-daughter's home in Missouri. Nathan was born December 18, 1923 in Dungannon, Virginia the oldest son born to, Thomas and Lillie Mann Osborne. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Army. He had been a Mattawan area resident years ago and was employed with General Motors/ Fisher Body, Comstock MI plant for 30 years, retiring in 1985. Mr. Osborne was a proud active member of the UAW "local 488" Nathan was also a 32nd Degree Mason and a life member of the V.F.W. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virginia R. Osborne in 1982; and 2 brothers, Fleetwood and Bruce Osborne. He is survived by 2 daughters, Luann Gary Webb Osborne of Fowler, OH and Lynn Scotty Hitt Osborne of Kalamazoo; 4 grandchildren, Summar Jeff Burgett of Doniphan, MO, Autumn Lee, Nathan Lee, and Winter Osborne all of Kalamazoo; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lowell Julie Osborne of Nickelsville, VA; a sister, Faye Owens of Gates City, VA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 11 o'clock on Saturday, April 2nd from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Friends may meet the family 6-8pm Friday, April 1st at the chapel. Interment will be held with full military honors at Maple Grove Cemetery , Mattawan Michigan. Memorials may be directed to the Disabled American Veteran's. www.langelands.com . 343-1508.
