BOVEN, Mrs. Naomi
Kalamazoo, MI Naomi died Thursday, March 5, 2009, in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born May 23, 1933, in Crane, MO, a daughter of Harry & Bessie Brown Ellis. In 1953 Naomi moved to Kalamazoo and was employed by the Upjohn Company for 32 years prior to her retirement. On July 8, 1976, she was united in marriage with Stanley Boven, who survives. Also surviving are: Naomi's four children, Steve Jean Walker of Phoenix, AZ, Richard Walker of Kalamazoo, Kathy Walker Steve Engel of Kalamazoo and Sharon Aaron Kotrba of Kalamazoo; Stanley's two children, Chris Patterson and Cathy Thomas, both of Kalamazoo; a grandson, Alex Brown and a brother, Charles Ellis. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00 Tuesday afternoon, March 10, 2009, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street with Pastor Todd Gallagher of Kalamazoo Community Church, officiating. Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private inurnment in Riverside Cemetery will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to the Kalamazoo Nature Center.
