SPARKS, Nancy J.
Of Portage, MI Nancy passed away Wednesday morning, November 25, 2009 at Tendercare of Portage. She was born April 4, 1921 in Crittenden, KY, the daughter of Walter and Kittie Belt Curry. On May 12, 1951, Nancy was united in marriage to Willard Sparks, who preceded her in death on September 19, 1989. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one sister, Jewell Currey; three brothers, Walter Currey, Arthur Curry, and Clifford Joiner. Surviving are her two daughters, Nannette Vasquez of Portage and Janet Lee Targgart of Jackson; two grandchildren, Joelle Kevin Schumaker and Stacy Chad Love; two step-grandchildren, Christopher and Jina; one great-granddaughter, Ava Schumaker; two step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Pearl Bohannan of Benton Harbor; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Nancy will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue, where friends may visit with the family from 11:00 AM until the time of services. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
