N. Suzanne Kilgore

KILGORE, Mrs. N. Suzanne
Richland, MI Died February 3, 2011 at home with her family by her side. She was born May 12, 1936 in Birmingham, MI to the late Norman and Consuelo Follett Vershure. Suzanne was married to Ronald N. Kilgore on March 12, 1966, who survives. She was active in real estate sales in Kalamazoo and the Gull Lake area, for over 20 years. Among her many interests were, tennis, golf, flower gardening and cooking She and Ron loved to go sailing and to vacation in northern Michigan as well as enjoying their home in Florida. In Florida, she held a leadership position in their neighborhood association. In her most recent years, she became quite an accomplished Mahjong player. Also surviving Suzanne are her children, Julie Martin Ries of Kalamazoo, Chip Belinda Toornman of FL, Barry Heidi Toornman of Portage and Mark Kilgore of Kalamazoo; 6 grandchildren, John and Alex Ries, Brittany and Barry Toornman; and Jacob and David Kilgore; sister-in-law, Georgia Tom Hudner; and family. Also preceding Suzanne in death were a brother, Stanford Smith; and 2 very special friends, Janee Knapper and Sue Herman. No visitation is scheduled. A memorial service will take place Thursday, 11:00 a.m., at Yorkville Community Church in Richland, Pastor Shan Martin, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to either Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan, the West Michigan Cancer Center or a charity of one's choice.
