Of Kalamazoo Passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2008. Myrtle was born April 26, 1916, in Chandler, Minnesota, the daughter of Leonard and Gertrude DeKoekoek Tinklenberg and has been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1924. She was employed for 42 years with paper supply companies, retiring from Mead Company in 1976. On June 25, 1937, she was united in marriage to Nicholas Klop who preceded her in death on March 8, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Jennie Boven, Nelson Tinklenberg, Patricia Prouty and Clarence Tinklenberg. Surviving are sister and brother, Betty Zuidema and John Tinklenberg both of Kalamazoo; half brothers and sisters, Donald Sue Tinklenberg of Kalamazoo, Leonard Mary Lou Tinklenberg of Warsaw, IL, Charles Belva Tinklenberg of Portage, Larry Barbara Tinklenberg of Parchment, Carol Ben Demerick of Paw Paw, Loretta Charles Tolhurst of Richland, Clarrisa Dick Hansen of Richland, Lauren Marilou Tinklenberg of Three Rivers, Ryan Tinklenberg of Kalamazoo; sister-in-laws and brother-in-law, Jennie Zweering of Holland, Wilma Tinklenberg of Portage and Marvin Prouty of Kalamazoo; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street where a Funeral Service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM. A private interment will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials in Myrtle?s memory may be directed to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission or the Fourth Reformed Church. 343-1508
