KESTER, Mr. Warren "Lee"
Kalamazoo, MI Passed away Friday morning March 14, 2014 at Kairos Dwelling after a long battle with cancer. Warren was born July 6, 1947 in South Bend, Indiana a son of Allen and Mary "Elizabeth" Delaney Kester. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life and was employed with Crown Vantage Paper Company for 25 years before retiring. Warren was a member of the Parchment United Methodist Church. He loved watching NASCAR and going fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Richard Kester. On December 24, 1976, he was united in marriage to his wonderful wife of 40 years, Elizabeth M. Shaw Kester who survives. Also surviving, 4 children, Kristine Randy Lassitter of Portage, Kenneth Sally Campbell Kester of Paw Paw, Brian Michele Mellberg Kester of Otsego, and Alan Maria Keyser of Holland, MI; 6 grandchildren, Kyle Kester, Morgan Kester, Sara Fable, Kevin Kester, Matthew Lassitter, and Kimerly Lassitter; a great-grandchild, Bradley Kester; a brother, L. Ward Barb Kester of Kingsley, MI; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial gathering will be held 1:30 Tuesday at the Comstock V.F.W. Post #6252, 5990 East Michigan Ave. Private burial will be held in Mt. Olivet Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or to West Michigan Cancer Center.
