BURKET, Mrs. Barbara J. "Jean"
Portage, MI Died Tuesday morning June 10, 2008 at her residence. Jean was born September 16, 1928 in Lupton, Michigan a daughter of Roy and Mabel Rehil Grenier. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was employed as a Registered Nurse for several companies for over 50 years, before retiring. She was also a member of Southridge Reformed Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Conrad S. Burket on October 24, 2007; and 2 brothers, John Greenier and DeLos Grenier. She is survived by 4 children, Michael Donna Burket of Gaylord, MI, Susan Larry Reeves of Schoolcraft, David Burket of Traverse City, MI, and Barbara Mathew Loveland of Charleston, IN; 5 grandchildren, Zachary, Michael, Lindsey, Joshua, and Jacob; 3 sisters, Marion Duane Hammond of Clio, MI, Agnes Sam Dye of Georgia, and Mary Ann Dick Harsch of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1 o'clock Friday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Parkinson's Foundation of Michigan or the Michigan Diabetes Association.
