MCCORD, Morris Quinton, Sr.
Vicksburg Passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012. Morris was born February 8, 1937 in Dothan, AL, the son of Charles and Era Clyde Campbell McCord and lived in the Kalamazoo area for many years. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and worked for the Fox Paper Company for 20 years. Morris loved fishing, watching Westerns and visiting the South where he was born. He was a most generous and kindhearted family man. Morris was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, Steven Wayne McCord and Roger Bebee. He is survived by his children, Morris Quinton McCord, Jr., Laura McCord and Era McCord; step-daughters, Carolyn Mench and Christen Weaver; a daughter-in-law, Staci McCord; many grand and great-grand children; brothers & sisters, Robbie Faulk, Wilfred Campbell, Noah Mauldin, Nola Mauldin and Bobbie Woods; and a very large extended family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek St. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2-8 PM. Interment will take place in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
