Mona M. Mitzie Liford

Liford, Mona M. Mitzie Kalamazoo, MI Died Saturday evening September 8, 2007. Mona was born December 3, 1930 in Lafayette, Indiana, the daughter of Fred and Nellie Pincher Spaulding. For 29 years she was employed at James Rivers Company. She enjoyed doing ceramics and loved going mushrooming. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jerry and her step-sister, Shirley. Surviving are four children all of the Kalamazoo area: Jane and Bill Yerge, Victoria Peekstok, Nellie Kathy Liford, and Kimberly Liford, four grandchildren: Joseph, Courtney, Melissa, and Christopher, a great-granddaughter, Riley, a sister, Phyllis Pete Mezza of Sebring, Florida and step-brother, Gerald Sam Smith of Wheatridge, Colorado. She resided with her close friend and companion, Rosa Lee Williams, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held 3 o'clock Friday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army.
