VERMUELEN, Mrs. Miriam F.
Kalamazoo, MI Died Friday morning March 4, 2011. Miriam was born August 15, 1921 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Henry and Katherine Van Daff Weenink. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed at Milwood Junior High School for 21 years, retiring in 1981. Miriam was also a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 50 years and was very active with the Chancel Choir, Food Pantry, Ladies Library, and the Ladies Circle. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald C. Vermeulen in January of 1988; a son, Daniel Vermeulen in 1998; and a sister, Phyllis Ossewaarde. Miriam is survived by a daughter, Ann Jollie Allen of Kalamazoo; 4 grandchildren, Kristen David Argo of Charlotte, MI, Nathan Lisa Allen of Kalamazoo, Jennifer Mike Cline of Paris, MI, and Anthony Julie Vermeulen of Cadillac, MI; 7 great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan Jack Wellnitz of Paris, MI; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held 11o'clock Wednesday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
