GORDON, Milford J.
Of Comstock Mel passed away Wednesday morning, June 16, 2010 at his home. He was born July 5, 1934 in Kalamazoo, the son of David and Althea Findley Gordon. Mel was a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed by Burroughs Corp. for 37 years until his retirement. Preceding him in death were his first wife, Bonnie Conley Gordon; one son, Dean Gordon; his parents; three brothers, Raymond, Millard, and Eugene Gordon; and brother-in-law, Evans Meredith. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Edwards Striebel Gordon; two daughters, Pamela Rick Morgan Poindexter of CA, Dana Barry Watt, of TN; daughter-in-law, Sheila Gordon of Comstock; step-son, David Striebel of Kalamazoo; eight grandchildren, Tony, Bonnie, Griz, Monica, Joshua, David, Alexandra, and Amber; two great-grandchildren, Tabitha and Raileigh; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mel will be at 1:00 PM on Monday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Hwy. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Comstock. Friends may visit with the family from 3-6 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
