Mildred R. Czuchna

CZUCHNA, Mrs. Mildred R. Portage, MI Died Monday evening August 20, 2007. Mildred was born February 20, 1907 in Fremont, Michigan a daughter of John and Allie Hanner Palmer. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1973 coming from Wyandotte, MI. She was employed with the Wyandotte Public Schools for 30 years, retiring in 1972. She was also a member of the Milwood United Methodist Church; Michigan Education Association; and the Retired School Employees Association. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Howard Czuchna; a brother, Earl Palmer; and 2 sisters, Effie Palmer and Elsie Kirk. She is survived by 3 sons, Paul Czuchna and Carl Anne Czuchna all of Kalamazoo, and Gordon Faye Czuchna of Rockford, MI; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Wilson Kirk of Caro, MI; and several nieces and nephews. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the Portage Senior Center, Kalamazoo Nature Center, or the Milwood United Methodist Church.
