Of Galesburg Mike went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 13, 2011. He was born April 18, 1966 in Kalamazoo, the son of Merwin "Merv" and Diana Thorp Youngs of Scotts, who survive. Also surviving are his brother, Douglas Youngs of Scotts; 2 sons, Justin and Tyler; grandmother, Juanita Thorp of Montgomery; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding him in death were his brother, Rodney Youngs in 1993 and grandparents, Rosier Thorp and Carrol and Marion Youngs. Mike was blessed with a large and loving family who will miss him dearly. Funeral services for Mike will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Chapel, 205 E. Maple Street, with Rev. C.T. Harrison of Prairie Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Gilson Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
