of Portage, Michigan Died January 21, 2013 at the age of 70. He was born July 18, 1942 in Kalamazoo to the late John and Betty Irish Nelson. Michael leaves behind nephews, Jeff Nancy Nelson and Jim Rose Nelson; sister-in-law, Dorothy Nelson; and dear friend and nurse, Karen Stewart. Preceding Michael in death were his brothers, John Nelson, Jr., and Jerry Nelson. Family will greet friends on Friday, January 25th from 10:30-11:00 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., where a memorial service will begin at 11:00 o'clock. Memorials may be directed to a charity of one's choice.
