DUDASH, Michael R. Portage Passed away Monday, January 22, 2007. He was born November 30, 1927 in Paw Paw, the son of Steve and Julia Kapusniak Dudash and had been a resident of Portage for 38 years. Mike was a member of the Descent of the Holy Spirit Orthodox Church in Schererville, IN, a Life Member of the Masonic Lodge #1169 in Homewood, IL and a past member of the Saladin and Medina Temples. He served his country during WW II in the United States Army as a telegraph operator and an expediter with the first occupation troops into Japan after the war. Mike worked for Ford Motor Company in Chicago Heights, then moved to Portage, where he worked for General Motors as a supervisor for 22 years. On July 16, 1955, he married the former Janyce Baugh, his loving wife, who survives. Mike is also survived by his children, Deon Scott Campbell of Portage, Michael C. Cheryl Dudash of Davison, MI and Mark Lorraine Dudash of Portage; his grandchildren, Austin, Chad and Angela Campbell, Michael N., Alex, Nathan, Sarah, Isaac, Abigail and Leah Dudash; a brother, Nicholas Helen Dudash of Cheyenne, WY; a brother-in-law, Wayne Stewart; a sister-in-law, Aline Dudash; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Mildred Stewart and Helen Dudash; 2 brothers, Stephen and John Dudash. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. with the Rev. Fr. Lev Holowaty of Schererville, IN officiating. Interment will follow in South Portage Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 3-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Portage Senior Center.
