Mike Denaway passed away at his home on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at the age of 68 years old. He was a life-long resident of Kalamazoo, born on May 5 in 1951 to the late Henry James Denaway and Marietta Brown (Smith). Mike married his wife, Gayle on May 5th of 1989.

Mike enjoyed wildlife, birds and dogs. He had many pets during his life and in his adult years he rescued small animals and birds to rehabilitate and re-home. He enjoyed rock and roll music and played in a few bands early in his life. Mike was creative and had a passion for repurposing many everyday items to be something useful. Mike was a friendly, peaceful person and was always willing to help those in need.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Stan Williams. He is survived by his wife Gayle Denaway (Drenth); his sister Susie Williams of Niles, his brother Jimmy Denaway and wife Cindy of Kalamazoo, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and Family are welcome to gather at 11:00 a.m. for Mike's Memorial Service on Friday, September 27th at 11:30 a.m. at Calvary Chapel of Kalamazoo located at 1211 Fulford Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49001. A Graveside service will also take place following the service on Friday, September 27th at 2:15 p.m. at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South located at 3941 S Westnedge Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49008. Arrangements were entrusted to Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 622 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
