BROCKELBANK, Michael A.
Kalamazoo Michael died Thursday, December 9, 2010, in Engelwood, FL. He was born November 19, 1943, in Battle Creek, MI, a son of Forrest and Dorothy Thomas Brockelbank and had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident. He graduated from Climax-Scotts High School and served in the US Army from 1966 to 1968. Michael worked for the Eaton Corporation, retiring after 35 years. He was a member of Kalamazoo VFW Post 827, a Past-President of KAAF and the former Softball Director for Comstock Parks and Recreation. Michael was preceded in death by his parents. On November 21, 1969, Michael was united in marriage with the former Kathleen L. Smith, who survives. Also surviving are: two sons, Scott Michael Brockelbank and Troy Allen Melissa Brockelbank, all of Kalamazoo; two grandchildren, Hanna and Cooper Brockelbank; a brother, Terry Sue Brockelbank of Kalamazoo; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many, many friends. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Services will be held 11:30 Friday morning at Centerpoint Church, 2345 North 10th Street, with Pastor Jim Dyke, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorials should be directed to the Brockelbank family.
