MUNTON, Merieta L.
Kalamazoo Passed away on January 3, 2008 at Wyndham West. Merieta was born December 1, 1918 in Barry County, MI, the daughter of Fred and Florence Stiles and had lived in the Kalamazoo area for the past 44 years. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the U.S. Postal Service at the Portage and Schoolcraft branches. Merieta was a member of the Kalamazoo First Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her husband Victor in 1993. Surviving are a daughter Melanie Norman Collins of Grand Rapids and a son William Munton of New York City, NY; 2 grandchildren, Corinne Pawlowski of Clinton Township, MI and Paul Collins of Grand Rapids; 3 great-grandchildren, Megan, Kyle and Dylan; and a sister Arletha Bird of Battle Creek. Services will be held at 3:00 o?clock on Saturday, January 5 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre St. with Pastor Phillip McElhenny officiating. Private interment in Barryville Cemetery. Friends may meet the family beginning at 2 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
