Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2008. She was born October 4, 1923 in Merrysville, OH and was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. Meredith was the matriarch of her family, who was truly loved and will be missed deeply. She loved fishing, Bingo, casinos, her grandkids, travel, shopping, Boston terriers and cooking. On July 29, 1940, she married Robert D. Fuhrman, who preceded her in death on July 12, 1998. She was also preceded by her parents; 3 sons, Gerald Fuhrman, Kenneth "Mike" Fuhrman and Robert "Stuart" Fuhrman; a son-in-law, Hubert Brown; two daughters, Diane Fuhrman and Paula Fuhrman Rice; and 3 grandchildren, Timothy Sears, George Fuhrman and Shay Fuhrman. Her survivors include her children, Roger Fuhrman of Albion, Decil Melanie Fuhrman of Paw Paw, Shelley Fuhrman of Otsego, Shannon Fuhrman of Portage, Janice Fuhrman Raynes of Parchment, Yvonne Fuhrman Brown of Kalamazoo, Richard Debbie Fuhrman of Grand Junction; daughter-in-law, Gloria Fuhrman of Schoolcraft, son-in-law, David Rice of Schoolcraft; many grandchildren, including Rick & Denise Olson of Gobles, several great grandchildren, including Samantha Olson and several great great grandchildren; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim & Helen Garrett of Delton; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 1:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. Interment will follow in Hickory Corners Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM . Because Meredith was a breast cancer survivor, the family suggests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory. www.langelands.com 343-1508
