Of Lawrence Passed away Friday, May 25, 2012 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Age 72 years. He was born July 29, 1939, the son of the late Arthur and Rose Rago Baron. He served with the United States Air Force. Melvin worked for the General Motors Fisher Body Plant in Kalamazoo, retiring in 1992. He loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood carving, water skiing and boating. He was married to Kathy Mary Beissmann Baron on August 6, 1960 in Decatur, MI; she survives him. Also surviving are five children, Becky Rudy Reyna of Mattawan, Cherie Scott Peninger of Mattawan, Cindy Randy Good of Bangor, Matthew Baron of Lawrence and Jesse Baron of Lawrence; and eight grandchildren. Graveside service will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Memorials may be made to the family.
