She graduated nursing school in 1979 and moved to Florida, where she served as a nurse practitioner for over 20 years. Melody was a great blessing to so many WMU students who were a part of her husband Mark's campus ministry. Melody loved to hike. Over the years, she and Mark enjoyed hiking vacations in the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, Catskills, and Adirondack Mountains in New York, as well as the Green Mountains of Vermont and White Mountains in New Hampshire. In her later years, she enjoyed photography. Most of all, she loved her son Jackson!
