Maxine B. Wilson

WILSON, Miss Maxine B. Galesburg, MI Died Wednesday morning November 28, 2012. Maxine was born February 21, 1913 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of William and Bertha Diver Wilson. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident. After having worked for the Harry Powers Insurance Agency and then eventually owning an interest in that agency Maxine continued to contribute to the local insurance industry by joining the Frank Kavanaugh Insurance Agency and remained associated with them until her retirement. Maxine was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Kalamazoo. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Rue Brockway and Edith Canvin; and a nephew, Jack Canvin. Maxine is survived by a niece, Rue Canvin of New York; a great niece, Allisa VandeMaele, of Florida; a great nephew, David Canvin of Kalamazoo; and her close family friend, Donna Russ Dusseljee of Kalamazoo. Private graveside services will be held in Riverside Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church of Kalamazoo or the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
